Lower Permian	Barakar	Gray sandstone, carbonaceous Shale, silt stone with thick coal seams and fire clay.
	Karharbari	Black carbonaceous sandstone, pebble bed, coal seams.
	Talchir	Dimictite, greenish sand stone, olive and chocolate shales, rhythmites.
