Three issues necessary to utilize selfie videos: camera position, how much video to take, and when to assign the task of taking, selecting, and using the video. (van Es et al., 2015)

Select video clips that promote discussion of student thinking: windows: are there multiple entry points where students’ thinking can be seen; depth: does the math work reflect depth and rigor? Clarity: is the student’s thinking obvious or does it need to be understood by the viewer?
