Purpose

To measure the effectiveness of posture control on a reduced surface area.

Material

A stopwatch.

Instructions

The subject stands on one leg, eyes open, the heel of the opposite foot placed on the inside of the knee of the supporting leg, arms relaxed on each side of the body. The subject chooses the side that suits him/her best. 2 trials can be performed.

Measurements

The evaluator starts timing as soon as the subject has a correct position. He stops the stopwatch as soon as the subject loses balance (if he starts to move) or as soon as the foot is no longer in contact with the knee. The result is noted in seconds, the maximum duration of the test is 60 seconds.
