Biological

Biological treatment is used to break down organic matter, generally through aeration and aerobic stabilisation.

Disinfection

(optional)

Disinfection is used to reduce the bacteria levels of clarified effluent. Most commonly via ultraviolet (UV) radiation, followed by chlorination.
