It caused an increase in the number of new entrants which caused innovation in logistics services provided and also are duction in transport prices. The first transport sector to be liberalised or privatised was freight road transport.

More transport operators joined the market, and it improved trucking services increasing access, speed and frequency of delivery. The deregulation period was gradual for two years

Indonesia

A new entrance into the market and transport price set by the market will lead to a reduction in transport pricing. Trucks need licenses to cross borders.

The deregulation was carried out in 1985

Morocco

There was the elimination of government freight allocation monopoly which caused a dramatic drop in freight prices.

The freight allocation was abolished in 2003

Rwanda

There was an increase in the number of local truck operators that reduce the price of transport to about 75%.

The policy was passed in 1994 after the Rwanda genocide.
