Fasting plasma glucose (FPG)

≥126 mg/dl (7 mmol/L)

· Patient should be fast for at least 8 hours before the test.

Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT)

140 - 199 mg/dl

(7.8 mmol/L - 11.0 mmol/L)

180 mg/dl (10.0 mmol/L)

· Use to measure patient’s ability to utilize glucose at certain time.

· Patient should be fast to perform 2-hours after 75 gram of glucose drink. For pregnant women use 100 gram of glucose test.

· Recommended in gestational diabetes patient.
