Mediation

Affective motivational aspects that facilitate the learning process were identified by students in relation to the mediation undertaken.

The pedagogical mediation, is usually established between human mediators (participants) and non-human (technology). There may eventually be the mediation of the teacher/tutor.

Interaction

The students judged the form of interaction as interesting, as they saw that they could ask without interruption or without personal exposure.

The mediation via technology provides a channel permanently open to trade, interactions, dialogs, constructions, among students and between them and the tutor.

With the use of the tools and the environment created in MOOC, all participants had access to each other’s writing, managing to assist with the work of their peers.

Dialogicity

The correction by means of reviews on documents encouraged the dialog and interaction between student and tutor, allowing for individualized care.

The Moodle platform allows customization of the total home page of a discipline and to render it a more familiar and intuitive interface for the student, which produced a good evaluation in relation to interest.

A variety of short videos were produced, with the purpose of demonstrating the stages of completion of the final assignment.

The Moodle platform was very well evaluated by participants in relation to its functionality and organization.

The resources forum, video chat, and wiki were well evaluated by the participants, who have understood its use and integration with regards to the purpose of the course.

Flexibility

The videos have the characteristic of flexibility, i.e. they can be accessed several times, until the student understands the contents.

Autonomy

The MOOC makes use of distinct instructional strategies, which involve the active participation of the student, which is consistent with the perspective of interactivity, autonomy, flexibility and creativity.

The MOOC is accessible to anyone who is prepared to study and learn and is not restricted to a group of people.
