Speaking of

native language in the community

Sa hisgutanan ing ana sir, syempre wala mi wala mi nagalanguhanay dri sa Ilonggo, Cebuano, wala! Mismo among kultura o lenggwahe namo ginagamit dri. Preserve sa ginatawag namo na kultura. Kay syempre kultura is lenggwahe.

They are using their language on their interaction with their fellow Manobo’s and even the missionary priest assigned to the area. They believe that their native language is part of the culture that they need to preserve.

Kanduli

Celebration

*Dunay mahitabo nga ritwal kada ah semana. Dunay patigayon nga ritwal.

They perform kanduli as their thanksgiving of prosperity and spiritual rites as protection from earthly and unseen evil spirits.

Sama sa paghatag mi ug adlaw nga magtapok me ug maghatag halad kanang kanduli gud sir.

Wearing of

Cultural Attire

*Sama sa mga sanina namo sir nga ginasuot, ginasuot namon kada kanduli. Naa kami sanina nga tribu.

They are also wearing their tribal attire during kanduli as part of the ritual.

Performing of Tribal Festival

Sa kabahin ana sir, syempre sa among mga lalaki, ipakita pud namo na kaming mga lalaki nga lumad, sa kultural na pamaagi, naa mi ginatawag ana nga makita lang na siya sa panahon sa kaning fiesta o kanag fiesta gud kanang anniversary sang maong lugar. halimbawa, naa mi ginatawag na tubaw.

Male Manobo’s were able to show their active participation in the community by attending communal fiesta that they called Sevekat that shows companionship and unity on their group while wearing their native attire, hat, or head bandage.
