Hypsometric curve (HC)

HC obtained by plotting the proportion of the total height (h/H) against the proportion of the total area (a/A) of the basin, where H is the total relative height, A is the total area of the basin and a is the area of the basin above a given line of elevation h.

Stream-entrance angle (Zc)

……………(or)

…………………

where (Zc) the angle entrance between a tributary developed in a valley-side slope (of ˚) and joining a large stream of lower slope (˚). Sc: is the channel slope of the parent stream

Sg: is the ground slope. It is assumed to be the same as the slope of the tributary stream.

Clinographic curve

(Cc)

Cc is based on the formula

Tan = Cin/Swc

where, Cin: contour interval,

Swc: average width between two successive contours calculated as Ac/{L1 + L2)/2},

Ac: total areas between successive contours

L1 + L2 are the lengths of two successive contours
