Waist to hip ratio

WHR = waist measurement (cm)/hip measurement (cm); in which the waist measurement was taken horizontally at the smaller circumference of the natural waist, just above the belly button while hip measurement was taken horizontally at the widest part of the buttocks.

Reduces waist to hip ratio (WHR) by 1%

Knowledge questions

· 10 structured open-ended questions.

· The numbers of correct answers were scored with one score given for each correct answer.

Identifies at least two benefits of taking part in brisk walking

Attitude questions

· 5-point Likert Scale was used to measure the participants’ attitude towards taking part in brisk walking by asking the extent to which they agreed or disagreed with ten questions.

· Five scales ranging from strongly agree to strongly disagree for participants to select.

· At analysis stage the five scales were further condensed and scored accordingly as strongly agree or agree (value = 3), neutral (value = 2), strongly disagree or disagree (value = 1).
